Odense was at its best as the city hosted The ESL CS:GO Pro League Season 6 Finals which was won by SK Gaming after a fascinating final game against FaZe Clan this December. There was an audience of 5,000 per day that gathered at the Sparekassen Fyn Arena for the chance to see exciting Counter-Strike games and also participate in the Odincon LAN. The events featured a number of competitions in most major esport and gaming titles. And they could follow The Road To Odense to experience the great robotic environment of the city.

Many local tech companies took this opportunity to meet potential new employees and introduce their company to everyone that come out. The participants could learn to fly a drone, move boxes with a robot arm, experience Virtual Reality, make a robot dance or dig with an excavator. But it wasn’t just fun and games. It was also a way to attract new employees.

Odense Robotics organized matchmaking sessions where companies and potential employees were matched. One of the companies participating in the matchmaking session was Mobile Industrial Robots. Quality Manager, Christian Have Pedersen, was excited about it: “I met a couple of attractive candidates that might fit into our company. And some interesting people with great skills who don’t fit into one of our vacant job positions. We will stay connected with them”.

You didn’t need to be in Odense to explore the city. During the event weekend more than 4,000 people visited TRTO.co and got an online experience of the city. And at ESL they are happy about the event in Odense.

The Finals reached some record-breaking viewership numbers with a digital peak of over 388,000 concurrent online viewers (excluding China), marking a 95% growth compared to the Season Five Finals that took place last June in Dallas, and a new all-time record for Pro League. More than four million hours of content have been consumed through 27 live streams in 18 languages and eight linear TV broadcasts, a 34% increase from the previous Pro League Season Finals. Throughout the tournament, 110 million social media impressions have been generated on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram alone.

We are very happy about such a successful debut of the CS:GO Pro League Finals in Denmark,” said Ulrich Schulze, Senior Vice President of Product at ESL. “The atmosphere in the sold out Sparekassen Fyn Arena in Odense was incredible and the Danish crowd definitely lived up to everyones expectations. It was a great event to wrap up the year and we are looking forward to even more excitement in 2018.
