Can a Danish startup company produce a product that during just a few years becomes the global industry standard within its segment?
Can a cluster from a midsize city on a Scandinavian island, become globally acknowledged as the best ecosystem for robotic startups, within just 4 years?
Robot World Expo and Conference in Seoul this October, gave full confirming answers to both questions:
Yes: Universal Robots is the global CoBot standard, also in Asia.
Yes: The whole industry is aware of the vibrant Odense Robotics.
The program for the large Danish delegation was very dense, thanks to solid preparation by Sunwoo Vivian Lee and other staff at the Danish embassy in Seoul. Mikkel Christoffersen (Odense Robotics) and Søren Peter Johansen (DTI) opened the global forum at Robot World with key note speeches. Mikkel signed a Memorandum of Understanding with KAR, Korean Association of Robot Industry, securing strong partnership between Danish and Korean industry.
Danish Ambassador to South Korea, Thomas Lehmann, headed a group that visited Cobot players at the fair, both at Universal Robots, meeting branch manager Yong Sang Yi and at Korean robot producer Doosan, where CEO Byungseo Lee welcomed the delegation at the booth. Marck Madsen (Sales Director APAC, Mobile Industrial Robots) flew in from Singapore and joined the Danish group – making an impact on organizers and visitors. All in all Denmark and the City of Odense had by far the most visible international impact on this year’s Robot World.
