The days where a security guard with a watch dog would do his regular rounds are over. Technology has come to stay. In some cases, by a drone, like the solutions offered by Odense startup Lorenz Technology. In other cases, by a Unit For Observation (UFO) – the high-end solution for construction site security, that the Dutch company Kooi Security is providing.
The new Kooi Security Scandinavia office in Odense was opened in September. Its operation is headed by Anders Petersen and Kennet Pedersen, sales and project managers with a long track record from the security and construction business.
Mobile camera monitoring is an important feature of the technology platform, that also includes advanced sensor and battery technology plus voice speaker. The UFO can thus provide temporary security at remote locations lacking any form of energy supply or data connection. Kooi Security has major customers all over Europe, for instance the largest manufacturers of wind turbines.
All UFO’s are connected to Kooi Security’s own monitoring centre, the Kooi Alarm Centre, based in a former bank building (thick walls, bomb proof basement) in the northern part of the Netherlands.
Kooi Security has chosen facilities at Voxeværket, an office hotel / incubator in Odense, very close to the E20 highway. Kees van der Ley, commercial director, reflected during a recent visit to Odense on the first two months of business in DK: “We had a good start with new customers and promising leads. The pro-active role the Odense city government has played in the process made us feel very welcome. We’re looking forward to be part of the thriving business environment and will use the networking opportunities, like the e-sport event ODINCON in December.”
