The Finnish company NewIcon has recently established a Danish subsidiary in Odense, Denmark. NewIcon chose Denmark, because the country has dozens of projects underway where new hospitals are being built and old ones are renovated.
“Hospitals are looking for modern solutions, and aim to improve efficiency through centralization. We are very keen to bring our novel solutions to Denmark and perhaps, to develop something new as well”, says Vice President Marja Jaurakkajärvi who is responsible for Business Development at NewIcon.
NewIcon chose Odense especially because multiple other robotic- and health technology companies also have established headquarters in the region. The first smart medicine cabinet trial unit will be installed at Odense University Hospital in the end of March 2017.
“After one month at the Hospital Pharmacy it will be moved to Acute Department (FAM) where the acute nurses will use and test the cabinet for two months”, plans Clinical Pharmacy Manager and Head of Section Mia Lolk Lund.
Hanne Hansen-Nord started as Key Account Manager in the new subsidiary on February 1st, 2017. Hanne has 20 years of experience in sales. The last 5 years spent at Ewii Telecare (former TREFOR).
Danish Key Account on board
“Hanne brings sales experience from hospital and municipalities, which will be useful in her new position. The pattern from both sectors is innovation, safety and increased efficiency, which fits perfectly with the products and services NewIcon represents”, comments Marja Jaurakkajärvi.
