Hey, isn’t that a robot in the window?

In the heart of Odense, both residents and visitors now have a chance to explore the city’s unique robotics ecosystem with the introduction of Odense’s Robot Pop Up.

Robot Pop up

Until December, visitors can drop in and get a glimpse into Odense as a leading robotics city. At the exhibition, visitors can learn more about how Danish robotics solutions increase safety, efficiency and sustainability in a wide range of industries.

Children and inquisitive adults can also get up close to robotics technologies provided by several of the city’s robotics companies including Mobile Industrial Robots, Nordbo Robotics, Odico, Spin Robotics and Universal Robots as well as the University of Southern Denmark. The Mayor of Odense Peter Rahbæk Juel is excited about the new exhibition.

“Even though many people in Odense know that our city is among the best in the world at robotics, not everyone has had the chance to get up close to these robots – or know what they can do. The popup exhibition is yet another step towards making Odense the world’s best robot city. The exhibition can make us and the world around us aware of what our unique companies can do and how robotics technology can benefit our everyday lives. I am pleased that our companies and educational institutions can now exhibit in the city centre.”

It’s all about growth

Funen’s robotics companies strongly support the initiative, which is driven by Odense Robotics and the City of Odense. The exhibition aims to support the industry’s growth by increasing awareness of the city’s unique robotics story and how robotic solutions can contribute towards increased competitiveness, safer workplaces and green transition.

“The strong robotics ecosystem on Funen and in Denmark attract considerable attention today nationally and internationally, and this interest is expected to increase. That’s why the industry has the need for a strong showcasing platform, and this popup is a step in that direction. Together with Funen’s robotics industry, we can show the tech users of tomorrow how robots solve important tasks in our society and in business.”

Søren Elmer Kristensen

CEO, Odense Robotics

Today, Denmark’s robotics industry generates EUR 2.1 billion (DKK 15.6 billion) in exports annually and this is expected to increase to EUR 3.3 billion (DKK 24.7 billion) in 2025. On Funen, there are more than 200 robot, automation and drone companies employing 3,600 people.

“The robotics industry on Funen is growing and needs more talented people and valuable collaboration partners. The way forward is to increase awareness of our unique robotics industry, and we do that best together. Mobile Industrial Robots is proud to join forces with other robotics companies from Funen to create this exhibition, which can bring our shared story out to Odense and beyond. ”

Robot PopUp exhibition is at Kongensgade 3, 5000 Odense C. After the official opening on Thursday 5 October, the exhibition is open on weekdays from 11-17 until December.
