Thunderstrike EU opens new hangar at Hans Christian Andersen Airport
Thunderstrike EU, an American drone manufacturer specializing in green technology for the drone industry, is establishing a test, development, and demonstration center at HCA Airport to further advance their technology.
On August 19th, Hans Christian Andersen Airport welcomed yet another international drone company. The ambitious American company, Thunderstrike EU, has established a permanent presence at HCA Airport to utilize the unique test facilities and airspace offered in collaboration with the UAS Denmark Test Center.
“We have received a tremendous amount of support from the Danish government and the local city of Odense. HCA Airport has the largest drone testing facility in all of Europe, so all the resources we need to test our drones are right here in Odense,”
“HCA Airport is a world-class location for the testing and development of drone and anti-drone technologies. Thunderstrike EU’s decision to establish their European headquarters at the airport is further proof of the enormous potential of the drone ecosystem. With innovative companies, world-leading research from SDU, and the Danish government’s expressed ambition to make the airport a NATO Centre of Excellence for drones, the future is bright for the drone cluster at HCA Airport.”
Plans for expansion
Even though Thunderstrike has just opened their new hangar, they are already planning a major expansion. By June 2025, Thunderstrike is expected to expand their presence by 2,800 square meters for drone production. They anticipate developing and producing up to 200 drones annually on Funen soil. The expansion will not only create more jobs but also establish Thunderstrike as a key player in Denmark.
“We see Thunderstrike EU as an important addition to our business ecosystem. It’s not every day that a foreign company establishes itself at the airport, so we also see it as an endorsement of our facilities.”
“Thunderstrike represents a new technology in the drone industry. Instead of having very inefficient power generation systems that produce a lot of pollution, what we have done with Thunderstrike is create a new method of generating power for drones that is green, safe for the planet, and good for the planet. We can also achieve a tremendous endurance with these drones that hasn’t been achieved before”.
Huge Potential
Thunderstrike’s range of drone solutions includes state-of-the-art, multi-fuel drone technologies. Thunderstrike has the ambition to redefine the market in terms of what is possible with drone technology while being safe and good for the environment.
Thunderstrike is currently developing a new type of engine that aims to revolutionize combustion engine technology while being as sustainable as possible. These engines will not emit heat or any other measurable signature that radar can detect.
