What is biosolutions?
gBiosolutions have been used for thousands of years, such as fermentation processes to produce cheese and bread, but recent advancement in technologies have elevated their potential. Today the term “biosolutions” covers goods and services derived from combining biology and technology with the ambition of accelerating the green transition.
They leverage the potential of enzymes, microorganisms, bacterial cultures, yeast and other biological tools and thus contribute to reducing environmental and climate impact.
At the conference, you will meet companies who work with different aspects of biosolutions and are at different stages of their growth journey.
Nordic Microbes develops microbial solutions for agriculture, Algiecel produces low-carbon ingredients for feed, food and cosmetics, and Ovodan Biotech develops antibodies for use in fx in-vitro diagnostics.

Biosolutions are the way to accelerate the green transistion. The potential of biosolutions is so enormous that it can be hard to fathom in its entirety. For example, it is the key to reducing global CO2 emissions by 8% or more than four billion tonnes. That is 100 times the Danish emissions alone.
Through biosolutions, we can:
- Minimize waste and our environmental impact while maximizing economic and environmental benefits.
- Produce food for a growing global population with much less land usage.
- Strengthen biodiversity.

Today, the biosolutions sector employs 7,000 people in Denmark working to pave the way for the green transition. Additionally, the sector contributes 13 billion annually to the BNP, and we only expect this figure to grow in the future.
